The 7th grade began a health project in lab. They are using Pages templates to build postcards from various locations along the digestive system. They chose a food to represent them, then portray the food as traveling through the digestive system. Starting with the mouth. They are challenged to give facts in the text of the post card that describes the location. Greetings from the mouth! Some students even chose specific celebrity digestive systems to visit. Some were Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and a hip hop artist with a full grill (diamonds on their teeth). Some funny and creative narratives are coming out of this assignment.

After successfully building and publishing a children's book in Storybird and storyjumper, 8th grade moved on to iBooks Author. They are constructing a catalog complete with items described in Spanish. Look for them to complete these iBooks and post them to their sites. These photos are from my catalog. Yes, unapologetic Penguins fan. Or should I say Pinguinos?
Fifth graders have been given a huge task. They have been asked to create the slides for the awards show November 3. They have been working very hard and I am amazed at their talent. I have been astonished at some of the slides, complete with actions and animations. No peek here though. You will need to come to the awards show to see them. The 6th grade worked in Tinkercad to design and create 3d models of their inventions for zoo animals. This was a science project that had students inventing creative and useful ways to feed the animals in the zoo habitats. The initial designs were done in class and drawn out by hand. Then students took the drawings to sketch.io to make a digital rendering. After that, they built and labeled their designs in 3d CAD in Tinkercad. The whole project went well. The 6th grade is good at the design process, planning and implementing a project. Good job 6th grade! Check out their designs on your student's website. They will give you the password. |
